It hurts to lose someone. Find help at GriefShare.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. We’ve all been there – and we can help guide you through the challenging maze of mourning.

  • Whether you’ve lost a spouse, a parent or a child, a sibling or another relative, a friend or a mentor —
  • Whether it happened suddenly or over a lengthy period of time —
  • Whether it just happened recently, or years ago and you still find yourself stuck —

GriefShare provides companionship, and the way to navigate this new path you never wanted to be on.

“Going to GriefShare feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering. At GriefShare, you are safe.” Vickie, GriefShare participant

“I am thankful to find a group that knows how I feel.” Claude, GriefShare participant

“I’m so glad I went through this program when my mother died. How I wish I’d known about it years earlier, when my father passed.”
Laurinda, GriefShare participant & Facilitator at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church

No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process.  At Mt. Calvary we understand how deeply grief and loss hurt people and families, because we’ve gone through it ourselves.

GriefShare is the cornerstone of Mt. Calvary’s Bereavement Ministry, helping people put their lives back together after the death of a family member or friend. It is a weekly ministry and support group offered to the mountain communities twice a year by Mt. Calvary.  There is no charge to attend and the program is completely confidential. The program consists of 13 video sessions, providing ideas and approaches for dealing with all aspects of grief.  GriefShare is ongoing and people can join at any session.

GriefShare is faith-based; however, anyone who is grieving will benefit from the opportunity to meet with other people who are also going through the grief process.

“Grieving is the most painful work that human beings have to do …

If we do not grieve, we stay frozen in pain, immobilized, our lives stopped where our loss left us.”

“Only by allowing yourself to grieve – [by] leaning into the pain – can you move toward a time and place where the pain does not consume you.”
