Music at Mt. Calvary
Choir
Mt. Calvary’s choir meets on Thursdays at 6:30 PM in the church sanctuary. We sing every two to three weeks at the traditional services during the choir season and on church holidays. Whether you are a seasoned singer or don’t have much experience, we would love to have you join us.
Hand Chimes
Our hand chimes group meets on Thursdays at 5 PM in the back of the sanctuary and plays in church once a month. No experience necessary but music reading ability helpful. The best time to join is in September or the end of January when we begin new music. We also need people to fill in while ringers are away, so this can be another opportunity to participate.
Praise Team
Our praise team leads worship at the 9:30 AM Sunday service throughout the entire year. Practice days and times vary based on participant’s schedules each week. If you sing, play guitar, keyboards or a wind instrument, we’d love to have you join us.
Tech Team
Join our group of volunteers who operate the church computer with ProPresentor, run the soundboard, or adjust the lighting in the church. If you are willing to be trained or have prior experience, we can use your help.
Solos and Small Groups
We also schedule individuals and small groups to perform by playing an instrument or singing during worship. Let us know if you are interested so we can schedule rehearsal time and provide coaching if necessary.
Talent Shows, Broadway, Panto, USO
We have a lot of fun making music and performing together. Every spring we have a special musical/performance event…sometimes a Broadway review, a USO tribute, or a British pantomime. Rehearsals begin the beginning of February and we always need performers and people to make the productions happen.
